LR 1

For questions 45 to 47:
Since none of the four students gets the same marks in any of the two
subject, therefore
(I) Sum of marks obtained by Zoya in Life Sciences and Finance
is 11
(II) Sum of marks obtained by Kate in Life Science and Public
Service is 11
(III) Sum of marks obtained by Frida in Life Sciences and Finance
is 7
(IV) Sum of marks obtained by Latika in Public Service and Finance
is 11
Also Zoya, Kate and Latika get total marks in the range 21 to 23 while
Frida gets in the range 19 to 21.
Similarly the sum of marks obtained in Optics is in the range 19 to 21
while sum of the marks obtained in Life Sciences, Public Services and
Finance are in the range 21 to 23.
Since total marks obtained in all subjects are different therefore sum
of marks obtained in Optics will be 19 or 20.
As marks obtained by Frida in Optics is 6, therefore the sum of marks
obtained in Optics will be 20.
Marks obtained by Frida will also be equal to 20.
Marks obtained by Zoya in Optics and Frida in Public Services will be
7.
45. 3 Now if two cases are considered, which are as follows:
Case I: Kate obtained 3 marks in Optics

Case II: Kate obtained 4 marks in Optics

46. 2 Clearly only 'Public Service' cannot have maximum marks.
47. 4 Kate obtained 7 marks in Finance. The new table will look like
