from 5:3 to 1:1 A must have given 1 part to B so from initial balance also A should have given 1 part only to get 5:3 thus the initial ratio should have been 5+1:3-1 i.e, 6:2 or 3:1
say a has 50,so b has now 30 if a gives another 10 to b both will have 40, satisfying 1:1 ratio. so earlier also a had given 10 marbles to b so initial ratio 60:20=3:1
